After exiting the church, I walked carefully down the rough stone steps. The caretaker seeing this and knowing that there was a longer rough staircase outside exit, said to me, “Come this way, this will be easier.” He open the wide double gateway while saying, “This is only supposed to be opened when the Bishop visits, but I think God will forgive me.” The gates were closed before I had a chance to take a photo of them opened. I was going to call out to him to wait, but he may have already been in enough trouble with higher authority.
