Many of the best works of modern architecture in Hungary have been done in the style known as Hungarian organic architecture. The prolific work of Imre Makovecz (1935–2011) is the best known. Other architects who have worked in the style include Sándor Dévényi, mainly in the city of Pecs, and Ervin Nagy. | In 1998, Hattyú Haz (Swan House) was built in Buda at the northwest foot of Castle Hill. The organic office building, designed by Ervin Nagy, is easily accessible by public transportation since it just east of Széll Kálmán tér, the transportation hub of Buda. In 2011, Nagy was named as Chief Architect of the Hungarian State. |
