Decreasing water levels

Larose Forest

Things are very dry over much of eastern Ontario. Many ponds, pools, wetlands and streams in the forest are dry. Fortunately, this one still has some water, though the exposed muddy banks show how the water has receded. This is thanks to prolonged hot days and no rainfall.

A scene vibrant with flowers notwithstanding the dryness.

A pretty scene but a common and worrying situation worldwide. Here in Australia we have had a very mild winter and little rain but, in other parts, severe flooding. Global warming is obvious.

Same weather here: hot and no rain and it looks like this ugly scenario will continue for at least another week or so... :-(

Dry here too. Nice to see some pretty flowers along the edge and in the reflections

Nicely photographed, but the opposite of what has been going on in the midwest U,S,

Nice shot of this water-fading scene Christine. A pond near our place shows similar lowering of water levels, the lowest ever according to people that have lived here up to 15 years.

Long stretch of very hot days and no rain and no sign of a long rain to come soon. Poor crops, gardens and creatures.

Starting to be dry as well, rain in the forecast for tomorrow

Sad to see this phenomenon, which I think is happening everywhere. V.

a fraught fringe for sure, yet this pond seems to be hanging in there, still potentially providing habitat for various wildlife...the drying of the planet is certainly a major concern these days, even out here on the Wet Coast..
