Fens are fascinating places for the plant life they support, in particular native orchids. Two species occur here, this one and the Rose Pogonia. They can be seen at this time of year, but to get out to the fen one has to endure swarms of biting horse and deer flies (and I do mean swarms) in the woods before reaching the fen!
