Probably Eubranchipus bundyi. Two delicate little orange Fairy Shrimp alongside a spiky looking mosquito larva. These tiny Crustaceans swim on their backs, the stalked black eyes sticking out on either side of the head. They are about 1/2 inch long and found in vernal (ephemeral) pools in woodlands. Remarkably, their eggs can survive in the dry bottom of these temporary pools, including for a prolonged period of possibly several years. The eggs are likely dispersed by wind or by animals.
