I've seen worryingly few monarch butterflies this summer, but a few days ago saw five, not many, but at least some are in the region.

it is worrisome when such a flagship species is again on the endangered list...spotting s few is encouraging though, as they are such important pollinators, and also heralds of dire environmental decline..
