Metsovo

Greece

Metsovo is in northern Greece near the Pindus mountains, about 450 km north of Athens. Albania and Macedonia are north of the area. It is known for its woodwork and weavings. We found it a fascinating and picturesque place, quiet - meaning in those far off days, fewer tourists than other places. I understand it is now on the popular tourist route.

The colours are crisp in the photo of this very picturesque village. Tourism seems to have come to every nook and cranny.

picturesque indeed, and providing a good look at another culture as it was back then...that's an excellent quality image, reminding how good film was for photography..
