Banded tussock moths (Halysidota tessellaris), #8203

Larose Forest

The milkweeds are just starting to bloom and attracting numerous insects. Here, a mating pair of moths is perched on a milkweed leaf. The yellow blobs you can see on some of their feet, are milkweed pollen pads which will be deposited at the next milkweed flower they visit, ensuring pollination.

I've been watching my milkweed plants hoping to see something. This is terrific to find and you've taken a great photo of them. Thanks for the information too.
