Riding's fairy moth (Adela ridingsella), #0228

Larose Forest

I have been hoping to see one of these tiny moths for years, and finally today in Larose Forest, I did. They are noted for their long antennae, and that is what first alerted me to look more closely as this moth flitted past and landed on a goldenrod leaf. THey are approx. 7-8mm in length.

Congratulations on your success, not only finding the species but photographing it well. Those antennae are amazing. Love the detail including bristles on its head, remarkably clear give its small size.
