Indian Pipe (Monotropa uniflora)

Lavigne Park

Also called Ghost Pipe. This parasitic plant requires moisture to grow and is often found after a rainfall. At its peak it is a ghostly white (although can also be pale pink as here) and stands out in the dark woods where it is found. Here, the fruit, the oval-shaped structure, is apparent.

Interesting parasitic herb, and those fruits are attractive.
