The Slime Molds were once considered to be part of the Fungi Kingdom, but no longer. The very fact that they can move around separates them from Fungi. In the case of these slime molds, they will move together (by means of chemical signals) to form a mass as above. If you poke these when young, they will produce a pink paste. As they age they turn a bronze colour. Slime molds are unique, often interestingly shaped and frequently in lovely colours.
