Virginia creeper sphinx moth caterpillar (Darapsa myron), #7885

Larose Forest

I've found about 5 of these this summer, in different parts of the forest, but all on wild grape, which along with Virginia creeper, is their usual food plant. By the way, I should have noted, the head is on the right!

Outstanding green on great capture. Your skill - with capturing caterpillars in Nature - look like they are modeling just for you is amazing.

I'm flummoxed working out which end is the head, though I'll guess the right-hand end with the Roman nose.
