Mitrewort (Mitella diphylla)

Reveler Conservation Area

Another native early spring wildflower of woodlands. Easy to overlook this one with the tiny flowers arranged on a slender stalk, but seen up close the flowers are intriguing. This plant is also called two-Leaved Mitrewort and Bishop's Cap.

Intriguing indeed. Those divided, external structures appear to be petals or sepals?

the flowers remind of the snowflakes we used to cut from paper back in childhood days..
