This beautiful big longhorned beetle is nectaring on goldenrod, a plant that is used by more insects than I can name (beetles, bugs, moths, butterflies, bees, etc). The larvae of this beetle bore into the black locust tree which here is considered a problem invasive, the tree, not the insect! Late summer is when these large handsome beetles appear.
