Sawfly larva (Cladius)

Conroy Pit

This is an interesting looking sawfly larva with its green-toned body. Although the larvae look very similar to moth and butterfly larvae, they turn into a wasp-like insect, nothing like a moth! There are numerous sawfly larvae for which identification is just about impossible. The larvae are also much more easily found than the adults.

Nice green tones. Looks like it will be done with the leaf pretty quick. V
