A few springs ago, I found a spot where a snowshoe hare was hanging out under a rocky outcrop. This provided the animal with much needed shelter, a snug place to hide. Nearby was abundant food. I was able to photograph the hare a couple of times over a few weeks. His summer coat is almost complete, but there is still some vestiges of the white winter pelage, which makes them stand out more against the brown of early spring. That is how I first noticed him... I caught sight of some white 'stuff' and looking closer saw it was the hare, whiter than shown here when I first saw him.
