Bird's nest fungi (Cyathus)

Ferguson Forest

More enchanting fungi. This may be Striate Bird's Nest fungi. These, like the earth star fungi (next photo) rely on raindrops to release the spores which are encased in "eggs" or spore sacs in the cups. These fungi are often found on wood chips in gardens, or as here, along a forested trail, growing on small bits of woody debris.

Very nice in their natural habitat. Some of them have "eggs" indeed. V
