The females are huge, the males considerably less so. As well, the males have a crook in each antenna which the females don't. This one looks as if reacting in horror (eeek!) at seeing me!

What a great capture, a portrait of a beetle! It does look a bit unhappy to see you so close, but maybe close enough to get you with one of those mean looking legs. V.
