Robber fly (Neoitamus flavofemoratus)

Larose Forest

There are numerous species of robber flies in this area, all are easily identified as belonging to the Asilidae family (robber flies (that long abdomen, heavy thorax and the tuft of hair between the eyes) after that, ID can be tough. Thanks to iNaturalist for this ID.
