Spider egg sac (Theridion sp.)

Mer Bleue area

Lifting up a leaf to look for insects I found this tiny egg sac. It is well affixed to the leaf as can be seen. This is made by a spider in the Theridion genus. Pretty amazing, I think, to not only construct such a sac but to affix it to the leaf so well.

That is pretty amazing, and well captured in this macro. I would be afraid of finding insects if I were to lift up a leaf ;-). V.

Cool discovery. I'm wondering who spends more time hunting for insect photo ops - you and I. (You don't search - you don't find - although my encounter with the horsefly yesterday turned me off searching for the day!)
