Coral hairstreak larva (Satyrium titus)

Reveler Conservation Area

I happened to be peering at something else when I suddenly noticed this odd shaped little caterpillar. I knew it was a hairstreak butterfly larva, as I've seen quite a few lately, but this one was unusual with the pink patches. After some searching I decided it must be Coral Hairstreak, but I needed Ross Layberry, local butterfly expert to confirm, which he did. To see the adult it will become: http://www.pbase.com/laroseforest/image/126459127 and http://www.pbase.com/laroseforest/image/144416724
