After about three hours of hiking, we stopped for lunch. The silence was profound, broken only by the songs of winter wrens, golden-crowned kinglets, brown creepers, chickadees and the occasional raven. This little stinkbug was one of only a few insects we saw during our stay. With a few more warm days bees, flies, beetles, butterflies, etc. should emerge in numbers.
