Larose Forest. This is the caterpillar of the extraordinarily beautiful pink and white evening primrose moth. The larvae are very common on evening primroses (Oenethera biennis), and mimic the size and colour of the seed pod. Here, the moth is eating into the pod to get at the flower seeds. The evening primrose, a native wildflower, is abundant along some of the trails in the forest.
