Leafhopper (Cuerna striata)

Reveler Conservation Area. This colourful little hopper is the adult of the nymph form in the next photo. These leafhoppers congregate in late autumn before hibernating as adults under leaf litter. They are amongst the earliest insects to be seen in spring.

The adult's markings are striking for something so small. Another excellent macro.
