Green stinkbug nymph (Chinavia hilaris)

This is one of about 20 tiny, tiny newly hatched stinkbugs that were all clinging to one small fruit of a buckthorn shrub. Nearby was the empty egg cluster. These guys were so tiny that I had trouble photographing them. Here is where I really need a DSLR with a macro lens! Hard to believe that these will grow into very large brilliantly green stinkbugs. On the way they go through various instars, each one different from the last. You'd never know they were all the same species.
