Another shot of the barred owl who flew in and landed nearby on a snag, where he sat for some time. Prior to this, we had seen another barred owl, who flew into a hemlock on the other side of the trail. This one we first heard, as it gave its distinctive call several times over. Then in landed nearby and gave a couple of deep, booming calls, before settling down to keep an eye on us.
