Mitrewort (Mitella diphylla)

Shaw Woods, near Renfrew. This native plant of woodlands bears a slight resemblance to foamflower (Tiarella cordifolia), which is often called False Mitrewort. Mitrewort flowers are produced on a long single stalk, rising above a pair of leaves (without stalks) on the stem. The plant also has basal leaves. This is a relatively common plant but is often overlooked.

A most striking composition, and I love the backlighting on the stem in particular. V.

A plant that is so interesting, what strange and somehow pretty flowers. Nice find and great shot. V

Unusual name for an unusual plant. Pretty litle flowers with the tousled fringe around.

These flowers even resemble underwater anemones.
