Tooth fungus (Hericium sp.)

Shaw Woods

The old growth section of the woods was a mushroom hunter's paradise. Not for edibles, for photographs. This is a very small fungus, growing out of an old mossy log. While this is a small specimen, I've seen these growing in to huge eye-catching masses.
