Chicken-of-the-woods (Laetiporus sulphureus)

Shaw Woods preserve. Despite the name of this bracket fungus, it is not really edible, though some field guides say the margins are edible. This one is well decayed and has been nibbled at by various creatures. While many mushrooms are toxic to us, other creatures seem to be able to eat them without ill effect. These large, colourful fungi are usually found on stumps and logs.
