Forked fungus beetle (Bolitotherus cornutus), female

Found in Rockcliffe Park. For some reason, I'm fascinated by these beetles. I have not seen more than a few, though they are apparently common. All the ones I have found have been on bracket fungus, including this one, which I coaxed onto my finger for a better shot. I am hoping to see a male as he apparently has pretty impressing 'horns' on his head.

I like his rugged texture which is accentuated against your finger. V.
