Bog copper (Lycaena epixanthe)

A little while ago, I posted a photo of the bog copper with its wings closed. Here is one with its wings open. Photographed in a bog with an abundance of its larval host plant, wild cranberry. In our region, this species is not often encountered due to its restricted habitat (cranberry bogs).

I'm fascinated by the detail on their wings, almost like hair. Beautiful capture with the wings spread wide open. V.
