These smooth, shiny little galls were on my climbing rose bush leaves this summer. I cut one open and discovered a small pale green larva inside. I think these galls may be made by a Cynipid wasp (a minute little creature), but I am not really sure. They don't damage the rose at all, and I actually find the tiny red shiny "balls" quite attractive.
