St. John's-wort (Hypericum perforatum)

A beautiful European species, considered very invasive, particularly in crop fields. A European beetle, the Klamath weed beetle was imported some years back, to control this species, and I must say, it seems to have done the job, at least in some areas, as one sees nowhere near as many of these flowers as once upon a time. I think they are very pretty, however!

I apologize to those who saw an earlier posting labeled as this species. It was in fact, Birds-foot trefoil which I inadvertently put here and didn't catch the mistake until Scott did (thank you!). I was going to post a triumvirate of yellow blooms.
