Photographed in Larose Forest. The first time I saw one of these tiny (wingspan of 20-25mm) little day-flying moths flitting by, I was sure it was a butterfly. And not only a butterfly, but one I hadn't seen in the field guides for our area! Of course, I later found out it was a moth.
These guys are often found in damp woods, and no surprise there, for their larval food plant is Jewelweed (Impatiens capensis), a plant of damp woods, as well as edges of wetlands.
