This muskrat was very busy digging into the side of a muddy bank. I wasn't sure if he was trying to dig a burrow, but I don't think so, judging from his actions. He then moved into the shallow water to wash himself of the accumulated mud.
Is that where he ended up. Ours took off a few years ago and I see he has found better waters by you. I found him hard to photo as he was so shy. He seems to have mellowed a bit here.
Maybe there was something worth eating there. Great capture of this pretty guy. V.

Now, this is an unusual sight for me; I have only seen muskrats on fur collars, long ago before PETA opposed. What a charming and beautiful image this is, better here than around someone's neck!
