Egg sac of the Black and yellow argiope (Argiope aurantia)

This egg sac was near a large female in her web. This sac will be full of hundreds of tiny, tiny spiderlings. It was very well protected by a dense sticky webbing, which you can see radiating out from the sac itself. Rather impressively protected.

Yep - that's what it is.....aren't they amazing! Only thing that gives me the creeps is when all the "hundreds" of tiny tiny spiderlings hatch.....ewwwwww! GREAT SHOT! V
