Rose sawfly larvae (Arge ochropa)

Found about 20 of these on the climbing rose in my garden, today. Many Argid sawfly larvae are tiny, prettily coloured, caterpillar-like creatures, that sit in this very characteristic way on the leaves they are eating, usually in large congregations. When disturbed they have the comical habit of waving their 'bums' in the air :-)
