Flower longhorn beetle (Trigonarthris sp.)

One of the long-horned beetles (Cerambycidae). Flower longhorns are important pollinators, as you can see from the thick coating of pollen on this one's thorax. It is on an Anthriscus plant. Photo taken at the Beechwood Cemetery. The cemetery has an extensive strip of "weedy" vegetation lining a wooded gully. All sorts of flowering plants, both native and not, thrive here, and so do insects. In 30 minutes this morning, I had a huge variety of species.

The only longhorns I'm familiar with are the bovine kind! Very cool!

I think I could walk through and only see the flowers. You have a great eye for finding them.
Excellent photo.
