Triptych

These are some of the carvings around the Mausoleum doorway at the Beechwood Cemetery. I don't know for sure, but the faces on the left and right, look much like the traditional Green Man motif, that although pagan in origin, has been used multiple times on British and European churches, And this Mausoleum is a good example of a traditional English church. There is an interesting examination of the Green Man in both pagan and Christian traditions at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Man

They look a lot like the carvings on the Parliament building I photographed last spring....I wonder if they were done by the same carver?

A great way to present ornate details of the mausoleum. Green men are always interesting to see, so much variety. Your triptych is superbly done. BV
