American crow with Mountain ash berry

I was much amused by the antics of dozens of crows in the Arboretum yesterday morning. They were all over the place, competing with squirrels for acorns on the ground, descending on the mountain ash trees for the fruit, cawing away. I am huge fan of Corvids (crows, ravens, jays), and realize not everyone is :-) But I find them feisty, intelligent, and entertaining.

Nice shot of this clever crow! I think I read about studies that have been done that show that they are really quite smart!

An outstandingly sumptuous composition in red and black. the red berries and the black crow are wonderful foils, truly a work of beauty. V

I like crows too, and unlike my neighbors, like having them around! There was a documentary on the CBC recently about crows that was quite interesting.

They're very intelligent, I don't mind them either. This is a great shot, lovely with the contrasting red!

Cool shot of this berry eater. Great colors.

They were probably drunk on the berries. You know how obnoxious a drunk crow can be... LOL
