Panellus stipticus

This species was found on a well-rotted birch log at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden in Ottawa. The log was so decayed that it could be squeezed like tissue. This fungus glows in the dark, hence one of its common names is Luminescent panellus!

Ah, I didn't know we had bioluminescent fungi here!! These are quite pretty. I wonder if it would be possible to photograph them glowing in the dark (I hear the glow is very faint).
