This spider is marked exactly like one I photographed in Mascot, Tennessee(see my gallery 'Somewhere in Tennessee') You will note in my picture a white heavy zig-zag web feature the spider has made on the web. It extends for several inches in both directions from the center of the web. The locals call this a 'writing spider'. Does your Black and Yellow Orb Weaver display this behavior? Great image by the way! V
