Cuckoo wasp (Chrysis) sp.) on lichen covered rock

These tiny little wasps (under 5 mm) are striking in their colouration. They are parasitic on leafcutter bees. Some are kleptoparasites, others are ectoparasitoids. They have one interesting characteristic which other wasps do not... they can roll up into a tight little ball, much like an armadillo, when threatened.
