Baltimore checkerspot larvae (Euphydryas phaeton) on turtlehead

Larose Forest. These look at first like they might be tent caterpillars, as they are all clustered in a silken web. But they are not. They are butterfly larvae and will turn into this beauty: http://www.pbase.com/laroseforest/image/125172498. They are closely associated with turtlehead plants, as here.
