Tsefat, also known as Safed, is one of the Judaism's four holy cities (with Jerusalem, Hebron and Tiberius). It has been a center of Kabbalah (sometimes described as "Jewish mysticism") since the 16th century and of art since the mid-20th century. At an elevation of nearly 3,000 feet (900 m), it is the highest city in the Kinneret (Galilee).
