While we were on vacation, we drove through Iowa in early September. The corn was nearing the time it needed to be harvested. I was struck with the beauty of the cornfields—the colors, the layers, the interweaving of clouds, cornfields, and trees. The orderly patterns of the fields with their cornstalks equally spaced from each other in all directions row by row by row reminded me of the tight orderly stitches of a counted cross stitich. Enjoy!
