I had this idea, after looking at Ansel Adams close up of a tree trunk. I can't do him justice, but I like this photo. does it need to be darker/more details = contrast?
What can I say to add to the comment I made at the end of February? It still works for me, Lara. It is not a fresh concept to tell the story of a tree through closing in on its skin, but do it so well here that it is still compelling. Like the horse before it, you just want to keep studying it.
An amazing image, Lara -- a road map of nature, abstracted down to its minimal form by your choice of B&W and your closeup vantage point. You are indeed using detail here to express meaning -- every little variation in tone and and scale symbolizes that tree's character, vitality, and experience.
