While I was in Alexandria I was able to take a tour of a French excavation of a catacomb (City of the dead). The little boy in one of the photos is the one who had lead construction workers (who were building an overpass) to an artifact he had found. He lives in that poor neighborhood near by. The govt stopped the building of the overpass and what they had found was a city of the dead. All artifacts were moved to a museum. We got a private tour of what was left of the digging. It was surreal.
