While the kids were in Florida, we decided to build a deck by the pool, which conveniently ate up 10 days that we would have otherwise been bored and lonely. We are still working on finishing touches, but it's been a great family project. Other than that, nothing happened in August except that Simon lost a tooth and started first grade!
