The Big Trip, Part 2: Chicago to D.C.

After our sojourn in Madison, we headed down to Chicago and spent a half-day with Shane Kost before boarding the Amtrak toward Washington, D.C. Our first family train adventure was a hit! The kids loved the sights, sounds, sleeping arrangements, and especially the lack of seatbelts. We parents LOVED the fact that it was not an airplane, even if it did take 20 hours to get to Washington.
